CELTIC GRACE CHOIR
Tom Dalton founded Celtic Grace Choir in 2009.
Tom’s first appearance with Celtic Grace was on 10/10/09 at Crumlin Church as part of the national week. That night in Crumlin Celtic Grace was born. Since that initial performance the choir has performed at many special events such as:
- Motor Neurone 25th Anniversary Service at Farmleigh
- Opening of Gospel Rising Festival on RTE in Bray RTE Big Music Train
- Opening the week live on RTE Radio
- Carols from the trenches in Christ Church Cathedral
- Aidlink Concert at the National Concert Hall
The idea for Singing for Your Mental Health came from the concert that was organised and performed by Enniskerry Gospel Choir for Mental Health Ireland and Newcastle Hospital, Co. Wicklow. The following year Ireland celebrated World Mental Health Week with a national week of choral singing, promoting the message that choral singing is good for your mental health. Choirs performed up and down the country, with local mental health associations promoting the message, which is still running to this day.
Performing at the Aidlink Concert at the National Concert Hall in 2017 was a major highlight for Celtic Grace Choir. We invited all singers who had performed with us over the years to join us to partake in this great occasion. Siobhan Kennedy Perrin, who had directed us at the Gospel Rising Festival, Big Music Train and Songs from the Garden in Powerscourt House, agreed to direct the choir for this event. We performed two songs along with Ronan O’Snodaigh and Call The Dancers, both written by Ronan himself. We also had the pleasure of joining and performing with Ronan O’Snodaigh, Mundy, Ryan Sheridan, David Kitt, Bronagh Gallagher and The Pale for the finale. This was a huge honour and achievement for Celtic Grace Choir.
We had the pleasure of singing at the Motor Neurone Remembrance Services for 7 years and last year Tom and Celtic Grace were nominated for an award for their services. These services included performances at Farmleigh, Pheonix Park, The Law Society Of Ireland and St Mary Of The Angels. It was a great honour.
This has been a magnificent journey and we look forward to performing at many more venues.
